Christmas Vacations and Santa Claus
What is the family’s favorite time of the year? Well, the answer is quite obvious – Christmas. During Christmas, many families plan vacation getaways where they get to spend more time with their loved ones. In order to get the most out of your Christmas vacations, you must plan it ahead of time.
Kids love to see Santa Claus and if you want them to be in a magical place where they get to spend time with Santa, you can take them to different places like Santa Claus Indiana, Bethlehem CT, Chocolate Town in USA, NY City, Orlando, or the North Pole.
You can also join the train rides at Polar Express because your kids will surely love the Christmas experience there. Aside from seeing Santa, your kids will also get silver bell souvenirs. If you’re familiar with the classic stories of Polar Express, then this is the train ride that you shouldn’t miss. The Polar Express is quite popular and so you need to book in advance. The train drops by at different railways like Grand Canyon, Adirondack Scenic, and many other tourist railroads.
In New York, you can catch Santa at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Macy’s department store has wonderful window displays especially during Christmas. If you want to see other beautiful holiday displays, you can check out Bloomingdales, Barney’s NY, Saks 5th Avenue.
Chocolate Town at Hershey PA also features Santa. If you go there, you will get to see lots of twinkling lights, live reindeers, Christmas shows, decorated rides, and giant carousel. Aside from that, families can also enjoy dinner musicals and special packages.
In Litchfield Hills Connecticut, you will find ‘Bethlehem’. If you live in New York, Bethlehem is more or less a hundred mile drive. A town festival is held every year, particularly in early December. Santa Claus will be the one to light the 75 ft Christmas tree.
If your kids want to visit Santa’s workshop, you can visit North Pole which is about 12 miles from Adirondacks New York. You can find nativity pageants, puppet shows, farm animals, and other shops there. For those who plan to stay long, there are family packages which include seeing Santa, lodgings, and meals.

For those who want a touch of Hispanic Anglo, you can visit Santa Fe where you can see little lanterns or ‘farolitos’ during holiday season. The lanterns light rooftops and walkways. The kids will also get to see the elves together with Santa.
The most famous Christmas destination is probably Disney World. Celebrations in Disney starts as early as November and the major celebrations follow. Families will surely enjoy the Very Merry Mickey Christmas Party and the Very Merry Parade. You will also see gingerbread men and wooden soldiers. Story telling is also held aside from the Candlelight Processional. The children will also love the spectacle of 5 million lights.
