San Francisco is a lovely city with many places to explore and enjoy, from the mountains to the oceans, San Francisco offers a little bit of something for everyone. While visiting, there are several areas that you can check out that not only offer free samples of great food, but some of them actually offer their tours for free as well. Some you can take the whole family on, and others are for adults only, anyway you look at it, there is plenty to do in San Francisco


One of the nice tours, which also happen to be free in San Francisco, is the Scharffen Berger Chocolate factory tour. They produce dark chocolate and offer tours as to how they produce a variety of different types of chocolate, and it's a great way to watch how chocolate is made and get a few tastes for free. A few requirements; that you must be at least 10 years old to attend and you must wear close toed shoes. Due to it being a food manufacturing plant, they have to abide by health rules and regulations. A wonderful way to learn about chocolate, taste a few freebies, and spend the day seeing one of the things San Francisco has to offer all for free.


Another wonderful free tour is the Takara Sake tour. Not only do they give you a tour, but they also have a museum that's open until 6 p.m. in the evening every day. It's a historic implements Museum for making Sake as well as how Sake is made in the USA style. It's the only one of its kind in America and while there you can participate in the Sake tasting events for free too. There's plenty of history and things to learn about Japanese Sake making, and the Japanese society in San Francisco


One of the places you can take the children is the Jelly Belly factory tour; another freebie and a must do on your list if you have kids. It's best if you go ahead and go in and have a sit-down lunch at their nice relaxing café before you take the tour and fill your children up with the many tasty jellybeans you'll be able to try. San Francisco offers a wealth of opportunities to enjoy for the whole family, and the jelly belly factory tour is a great way for children to get involved, learn about manufacturing candy, and have a few tasty treats as well, all for free
